SPARK Multi-language Large Model Released, Driving Smarter Cars Going Global

On October 24, at the 7th World Voice Expo and the iFLYTEK 1024 Global Developer Festival, iFLYTEK unveiled the auto-side SPARK Large Model, marking the first demonstration of the SPARK Multi-language Large Model in automotive cockpits.

SPARK Cockpit Celebrates Its First Anniversary
Since its launch at the 1024 Developer Festival last year, the iFLYTEK SPARK intelligent cockpit has undergone multiple iterations along with SPARK Large Model. It now boasts a range of advanced capabilities including complex semantic understanding, integration of internal and external information sources, and multi-modal interaction. The cockpit can accurately understand the needs and intentions of drivers and passengers and provide quick responses and solving various problems with "high EQ and IQ," significantly enhancing the driving experience.

Within the new human-vehicle interaction framework powered by the SPARK Large Model, the scope and value of human-vehicle interactions have been significantly enhanced. The daily average of human-vehicle interactions has surged from 7 to 18, driving the total annual interactions of iFLYTEK's automotive voice products to surpass 12.7 billion.

Currently, leading automotive brands such as Chery, GAC, Great Wall, Changan, Volkswagen, and JAC have chosen the iFLYTEK SPARK Large Model as the intelligent cockpit configuration for their flagship models.

Upgrade of Auto-Side SPARK Large Model

With the continuous improvement of cockpit computing power and the ongoing optimization of iFLYTEK's computing power fusion solution, the auto-side SPARK Large Model was launched at this conference.

Traditional cloud-based large models, while boasting numerous parameters and strong computing power, suffer from inherent latency due to their heavy reliance on network transmission. In the novel end-cloud integrated architecture, iFLYTEK leverages its leading speech interaction technology to deeply tailor and optimize the on-device model based on in-vehicle scenarios. This reduces the initial response time of in-vehicle terminals to a mere 40ms, with recognition accuracy declining by less than 1% compared to cloud-based large models. In this new end-cloud fusion mode, the response time of large models to complex queries is significantly reduced to 1.3s, approaching the natural interaction experience of real humans.

Thanks to iFLYTEK's AI engineering implementation capabilities, the auto-side SPARK Large Model offers models of various sizes, flexibly deploying various AI capabilities. This ensures comprehensive compatibility with mainstream domestic and international cockpit solutions.

In the fourth quarter of this year, multiple models from brands such as Chery, GAC, and Great Wall will be equipped with iFLYTEK SPARK auto-side voice interaction full-link large models and delivered to the market.

SPARK Cockpit Large Model Accelerates Global Expansion

With the accelerated pace of Chinese new energy intelligent vehicles going overseas, the demand for multi-language in-vehicle voice systems has surged. iFLYTEK is expected to deliver over 1 million sets of multi-language in-vehicle voice products in 2024.

Due to the small scale of overseas markets and the fragmented distribution of languages, current export vehicle voice products have not yet been integrated with large models, resulting in a significantly inferior in-vehicle interaction experience compared to domestic models. To address this situation, iFLYTEK Chairman Liu Qingfeng introduced the SPARK Multi-language Large Model at this conference, adding multiple major international languages such as French, German, Japanese, Korean, Arabic, Spanish, and Portuguese to the existing Chinese and English languages. The overall performance fully meets the actual application requirements of various terminals.

"If Chinese large language model providers only focus on Chinese and there's no other global option, we'll inevitably be confined to the Chinese market. We need not only to continuously improve the capabilities of the eight languages we've already opened up, benchmarking against the world's best, but also to achieve the best in the world for real-world application scenarios and continuously expand our language range to provide the world with a second choice." Liu Qingfeng, chairman of iFLYTEK, stated that they will continue to invest in multi-language large models to further promote the product advantages of Chinese intelligent automotive cockpits in the global market.

Currently, eight of the top ten Chinese car brands going overseas have adopted iFLYTEK's multi-language in-vehicle voice products, and several international automakers have also included iFLYTEK's multi-language products in their global supply chain system. With the launch of the multi-language large model, more and more car owners worldwide will be able to enjoy the benefits of technology brought by Chinese intelligent cockpits.
