iFLYTEK Attends 2023 Digital Expo in Guizhou

The 2023 China International Big Data Industry Expo (Big Data Expo) recently took place in Guizhou under the theme of "Integrating Digital and Real Economies, Unlocking the Future with Computing Power." iFLYTEK participated in the Expo and with its advanced AI products to witness the increasing integration of the digital and real economies.

iFLYTEK Chairman Liu Qingfeng was invited for a high-level discussion on "Big Data Empowering Guizhou's High-quality Development." The iFLYREC Simultaneous Interpretation provided technical service for the event, and 50 iFLYTEK Translators were gifted to the organizing committee to assist exhibitors from far and wide experiencing barrier-free communication.

iFLYTEK and Guizhou have a long and fruitful history of cooperation.

In 2015, iFLYTEK teamed up with Guiyang, the capital of Guizhou province, and chose it as the base for many major projects, such as the Voice Cloud Data and R&D Western Center. Since 2018, iFLYTEK has promoted the development of education, medical care, and other fields in Guizhou through advances in artificial intelligence and other technologies. Last year, iFLYTEK chose the Guanshanhu District of the Guizhou Province as the assembly and production base of the iFLYTEK AI Learning Machines and increased investments in software, hardware, and business ecology. As a result, there are now over 40,000 developing teams from Guizhou on the iFLYTEK Open Platform.

While discussing how Guizhou's big data industry can leverage its comparative advantages, Liu Qingfeng offered three suggestions for relevant actors to take: advance comparative advantages in data convergence and public data, lead in the application of general artificial intelligence across multiple scenarios, and foster talent training through increased efforts and the creation of a nationwide leading position for the big data industry.

He further highlighted that the 2023 Big Data Expo took place during a time of unprecedented opportunities stating that he looked forward to more extensive cooperation with iFLYTEK partners in Guizhou.

At the Big Data Expo opening ceremony, iFLYREC provided offline real-time speech tranion services for the audience. As the "Intelligent Speech Tranion and Translation Partner of the 2023 China International Big Data Industry Expo", iFLYREC based its speech and language service platform on AI tranion and translation technologies. Having provided multiple products and services such as text, documents, videos, simultaneous interpretation, and conferences for different clients at the C/B/G ends. By integrating machine services and eco-interpreter resources, iFLYTEK built a man-machine coupling service platform and a language service SaaS+Apass business ecosystem, providing users with unimpeded, information-accessible communication services.

Zhao Ran, an employee with the iFLYTEK Consumer BG and the iFLYREC Division of Government and Business Affairs, delivered a presentation on "AI Empowering Smart Office Work" during the Expo. iFLYREC smart office solutions are based on AI capabilities such as speech recognition, machine translation, semantic understanding and OCR recognition, and conduct intelligent transformations to enhance the traditional daily office work of government and enterprise clients. iFLYREC offers comprehensive solutions in four scenarios: local office work, teleconferencing, desktop office, and mobile work. For regular users, iFLYREC Writing, based on the SparkDesk, automatically converts audio and video files into words supported by artificial intelligence technology. Meanwhile, deep analysis is conducted to quickly provide news stories, meeting minutes, and copywriting services according to user instructions.

Xiao Lianlei, who works in the Marketing and Sales Division of Translation and Recording BG, introduced the iFLYTEK series of intelligent products during their "New AI, Smart Future" discussion. These products included translation devices, voice recorders, and AI-notebook, which are increasingly used in the workplace, schools, and daily life to enable more people to benefit from AI technology.

In addition, an International Friendship City Exhibition Area was set up for the first time with the participation of 13 international friendship cities and other areas from eight countries. As the "2023 China International Big Data Industry Expo Translation Device Provider", iFLYTEK provided translators that allowed for barrier-free communication at the exhibition. The iFLYTEK Translator devices provided at the exhibition support instant translation between Chinese and other major languages with an average translation response time of 0.5 seconds.

Since its inception in 2016, the iFLYTEK Translator has helped one million users manage overseas traveling and transnational business, supporting online translation in up to 83 languages, offline translation in 16 languages, and translation of 16 industries. Nearly 200 countries and regions around the world are covered by the language translation services.

2023 marks the eighth year of iFLYTEK empowering "Digital Guizhou" with intelligent speech and artificial intelligence technologies. iFLYTEK will continue to promote the deep integration of artificial intelligence with education, medical care, urban development, and other areas of people’s lives. Furthermore, we aim to create innovative demonstration applications of artificial intelligence in Guizhou, help cultivate industrial clusters with big data and artificial intelligence characteristics in the province, and contribute to digital development in Guizhou.

In looking toward the future, Ma Ningyu, Mayor of Guiyang City and Director of Gui'an New District Management Committee, met with iFLYTEK Chairman Liu Qingfeng during the conference to witness the signing of a strategic cooperation framework agreement between Guiyang Gui'an New District and iFLYTEK.

Also present were Xu Yulin, Senior Vice President of iFLYTEK, and Li Ang, Secretary General of Guiyang Municipal Government. Wu Hongchun, Deputy Director of Gui’an New District Management Committee, and Lou Chao, Vice President of iFLYTEK, signed the agreement.

The signing of the framework agreement marks a new stage of win-win cooperation, where the three parties will carry out comprehensive and in-depth work centered on artificial intelligence research, innovation, and entrepreneurship in the future, strengthening iFLYTEK's real presence in Guizhou, and promoting the application of artificial intelligence in education, medical care, and other fields. These efforts will contribute to developing an artificial intelligence demonstration zone in Gui'an of Guiyang.
